Avenfield Reference: Islamabad High Court reserves verdict

*ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad High Court reserved its verdict on Monday on the appeal of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar against the Avenfield reference conviction.*
Justice Athar Minallah said they will prepare a proper order in the case.
An anti-corruption court sentenced the trio in one of the three references against them – Avenfield.
The former PM was awarded 10 years in jail and his daughter was awarded seven. Maryam’s husband, Captain (retd) Safdar was also handed a one-year sentence in the case.
All three are currently in jail.
