Supreme Court accepts Punjab Government plea

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The Supreme Court on Friday accepted an appeal for hearing filed by Punjab government against Lahore High Court (LHC) remarks over appointment of Mustafa Ramday as Acting Advocate General Punjab.

The division bench of the apex court headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case .

Justice Saqib Nisar expressed annoyance over non-appointment of Advocate General Punjab for long time.

He remarked that Advocate General Punjab should be appointed within 30 days.

During the course of proceedings, Asma Jehangir counsel for Acting Advocate General Punjab Mustafa Ramday appeared before the court and stated that high court had not authority to pass remarks against the appointment of Advocate General.

Later, hearing of the case was adjourned till date in office.
