In an unprecedented move, PM Imran Khan cuts perks and privileges of PM and President of Pakistan

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday gives go-ahead to draft a bill to reduce the perks and privileges of the Prime Minister and the President.

According to details, Imran Khan has approved a bill to reduce the privileges given to the state's prime minister and president.

The decision has been taken to save the national exchequer and to end the culture of VIP spending at government expenses.

PM Imran has directed Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr Babar Awan to prepare a draft of the bill.

Dr Babar Awan said the bill would abolish a clause which allowed the president and the prime minister to declare unlimited houses as their personal residences or camp offices in multiple cities.

The two dignitaries would be entitled to have only one accommodation along with the official one, he added.

The bill will be tabled in the parliament for approval.
