This Pakistani movie has been officially selected for Oscar nomination

ISLAMABAD - The Pakistani Academy Selection Committee has officially announced the Pakistani movie for the Oscar consideration.
Pakistani movie *Cake* starring Sanam Saeed, Aamina Sheikh and Adnan Malik has been selected for Oscar consideration in the ‘Foreign Language Film Award’ category at the 91st Academy Awards scheduled to take place on February 24, 2019.
The final nominees for all award categories including Best Foreign Language Film will be selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in January 2019. The complete and final list of Oscar nominees will be announced on January 22, 2019.
The selection committee, chaired by two-time Academy Award and Emmy winning documentary filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, includes novelists Kamila Shamshi and HM Naqvi; actor and director Saira Kazmi; singers Hadiqa Kiani, Ali Sethi and Zoe Viccaji; journalist and author Nadeem Farooq Paracha; stylist and enterprenuer Nabila Maqsood; radio jockey Khalid Malik; and actor Faysal Qureshi.
Speaking about the honour, the film’s director and writer Asim Abbasi said, “I am extremely honoured to have *Cake*representing Pakistan this year, and grateful to the selection committee for considering it worthy.”
