LAHORE - The National Accountability Bureau's strong response has surfaced over the release of Sharif family by Islamabad High Court.
NAB will file an appeal in the Supreme against the Islamabad High Court’s decision to suspend the sentences of the Sharifs in the Avenfield corruption reference.
A NAB meeting chaired by chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Wednesday was briefed on the IHC decision. During the meeting, it was decided that an appeal would be filed as soon as the IHC’s order was received.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the sentences of Nawaz Sharif, daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar in the Avenfield corruption and ordered their release.
The sentences will remain suspended until the final adjudication of the appeals filed by the petitioners.
