UN deeply concerned over suppression of press freedom in IOK

The United Nations has expressed serious concern over the suppression of press freedom and ill-treatment of journalists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a news conference at UN Headquarters in New York,Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom Irene Khan said our position on human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, is on the record and we have regularly criticized the way in which journalists are being arrested.
