US makes contributions to the Ehsaas programme

The United States will contribute seven million dollars to the Asian Development Bank’s ongoing support for Ehsaas Programme to address the secondary effects of COVID-19 in Pakistan.

A signing ceremony in this regard was held in Islamabad, which was attended by USAID Mission Director Julie Koenen and ADB Country Director Yong Ye.

Under the agreement, the Asian Development Bank will use the USAID’s seven million dollars contribution to provide cash grants to Pakistani families in need of financial assistance due to the pandemic.

The grants will be distributed through the Government of Pakistan’s Ehsaas Emergency Cash program.

The USAID’s funds will also provide technical and administrative support to ensure effectiveness, accountability, and transparency for the program beneficiaries.
