In Occupied Kashmir, the authorities have shifted about twenty-three Kashmiri detainees from Kotbhalwal and Kathua jails in Jammu to Haryana jails in India.
In a statement in Srinagar, Jamaat-e-Islami denounced the move and demanded that the political detainees should be shifted back to the valley.
It said the detainees have been transferred ignoring the High Court verdict, which has declared the shifting of any detainee outside Jammu and Kashmir ultra vires and a violation of the rights of detainees.
The party also deplored that the trial of a number of political leaders including three women leaders of Dukhtaran-e-Millat have been given to a court in Delhi under a policy of political vendetta.
