Induction of two more aircrafts raise the number of Pakistan International Airlines fleet to 37

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has inducted another two planes in its fleet. An Airbus A- 320 aircraft of PIA became operational yesterday and another plane will become the part of PIA fleet after the completion of necessary departmental formalities. While talking to media, PIA officials said, after the induction of two planes, the total number of planes has been increased to 37. PIA will now have two Boeing 777; three 773; four 772; two A-310; three A-31L; 10 A-320; five ATR-72 and six ATR-42 aircraft in its fleet. Administration is planning to purchase extra planes on dry lease. The number of planes will be increased to 40 at the end of present year and to 50 at the end of 2016. He added. PIA would also increase the number of flights for various international destination including Toronto, New York, Kuala Lumpur, Jeddah, Dammam, Madina, Beijing and Dubai.
