NEPRA announces Rs 5 per unit cut in electricity prices

Extremely good news for the power consumers as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday announced Rs5 per unit cut link in the electricity prices under the prime minister’s concessionary package, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
The consumers will be able to avail this facility from March 2022 till June 2022.
The Authority has conveyed its decision to the federal government, which will issue a notification in this regard.
However, lifeline consumers will not be able to benefit from the concession.
Under the new arrangement, the federal government will provide Rs106 billion in subsidy to the power consumers.
