'Govt committed to improve education and health facilities'

Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood has said the government is committed to human development and improving education and health facilities for the people.

Addressing a Human Capital Summit in Islamabad, he said main purpose of the government is to bring people out of poverty and bring improvements in all facets of their lives.

He said efforts are being made to improve literacy rate, which is a challenge and raising it to 70 percent in four years would require seven hundred thousand adult literacy centres and two million teachers.
