PIA’s first Safari service takes off with passengers from 13 countries

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has kicked off its first safari flight from Islamabad for Skardu carrying travellers on a scenic journey with stunning views of the world’s highest mountains and picturesque northern region.
Some 91 passengers link from 13 countries link on this exciting safari flight including Federal Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar as a passenger in his personal capacity.
The national carrier’s Safari flight will brief the foreign passengers link about the wonders of Pakistan’s north and the best-kept secret of the tourism in the country including the mightiest K-2, Nanga Parbat and Broad Peak and other highest mountains in Karakoram, Himalayas and Hindukush region.
A PIA link spokesperson said that the move is aimed at attracting more tourists to the country’s turquoise lakes.
The flight service has been renamed ‘Sadpara Air Safari’ to honour Pakistan’s celebrated mountaineer who tragically lost his life during the K2 winter expedition this year.
Passengers link will enjoy the unique experience of being on top of the world and be able to see panoramic views of the world’s second-highest mountain K2.
Reports said that after landing at Skardu Airport, the adventure will continue as the passengers link can enjoy complimentary hi-tea at the Shangrila Hotel. The return flight would depart after two hours of arrival.
It is relevant to note that Pakistan is home to five of the 14 highest peaks (8,000m) in the world. There are more than a hundred peaks that are above 7,000 meters.
