Islamabad Police to hold Summer camp to enhance public confidence

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Deputy Superintendent and principal of police training school Islamabad Bakhtiar Ahmed said Tuesday that summer camp for children has been arranged by capital police to improve communication with the public.
Talking to PTV news, he said that the Islamabad Police believe in the continuity of practices that promoted "friendly police ecology", it also had started a summer school in 2003 to boost public image of the police.
He further said that capital police was striving to win public confidence by strengthening its engagement with the community.
Replying to a question he said it is the 14th summer school organized by ICT Police for children age around 4 to 14.
He told PTV news that students would be taught swimming, horse riding, gymnastics, archery and obstacle crossing by trained instructors.
He said that 306 children have been registered this year and their parents can interact with the police through groups on social media sites to give their suggestions for betterment of the camp.
