KP Police launches multiple new reforms in province

PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highways Traffic Units and Traffic Police are being equipped with modern gadgetries and technology under recently introduced traffic reforms. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Salahuddin Khan Mehsood has designed the agenda of traffic reforms, said a press release issued here on Saturday. In this connection awareness campaigns have been arranged in different educational institutes of the province as well as walks on different highways taken out. Likewise, necessary meetings have been arranged with concerned officials and problems of load management would be solved amicably. A large number of people from different sectors of life participated in these campaigns. The pamphlets inscribing with traffic awareness phrases were distributed amongst participants. Similarly, Global Possession System (GPS) and Live Video Streaming System technologies have been introduced in entire vehicles of traffic highways units. It is said that a monitoring room would be established soon at traffic headquarters for redressal of public complaints and monitoring of live video system. Digital E-ticketing would also be launched in all traffic police and highways traffic field units on the pattern of motorway police. 20 new vehicles branded with police stickers would be provided to highways traffic police and installation of 42 Digitized LED screen on busy and prominent highways of all districts of the province have been underway. LEDs would be used for general public and drivers to educate them about traffic laws through videos.
