Pakistani FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi held important meetings with Egyptian top leadership in Cairo

Pakistan has expressed determination to further strengthen bilateral ties with Egypt.

According to the details, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Hassan Shoukry in Cairo.

Both leaders in the meeting agreed to further strengthen trade and economic relations between two countries through enhanced cooperation in diverse fields.

Both the Foreign Ministers discussed the matters of mutual interest including the ways and means to enhance bilateral cooperation in different sectors.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan considers Egypt an important country of the Arab world and is determined to further strengthen bilateral ties.

He said Pakistan is pursuing the policy of “Engage Africa” for the promotion of trade and economic relations with African countries.

The Foreign Minister also informed the Egyptian Foreign Minister about the nefarious designs of India’s Hindutva regime against Pakistan and termed it a danger for peace and stability of the region.

He also invited him to visit Pakistan which Sameh Hassan Shoukry readily accepted. The Egyptian Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan for its efforts for peace in Afghanistan.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi earlier met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Cairo link and discussed with him the geopolitics of Pakistan and said that the two countries could also share their experiences on counter-terrorism and counter-extremism efforts.

During the meeting Foreign Minister said that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen the roots of common beliefs, culture and values ​​of Pakistan with the African country. Shah Mehmood Qureshi also conveyed the good wishes of the Pakistani leadership to the Egyptian President.

Moreover, Shah Mehmood Qureshi emphasized that the vision of a “new Pakistan” was foreshadowed by economic ties and ensuring peace within and outside our borders.
