Punjab Rangers have been called in Punjab province

LAHORE: Pakistan Rangers Punjab have been called in Punjab to tackle extremist elements in the province, sources have claimed.

The decision was taken in the Apex Committee meeting held on Lahore on Sunday.

Held under the chair of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore, the apex committee meeting also decided to restrict any illegal movement of Afghan refugees in the country, and to closely monitor Punjab’s internal borders.

The meeting also decided to extend the scope of ongoing intelligence operations across the province.

It was further agreed in the meeting that all financial resources of proscribed organisations will be cut and terror facilitators will be arrested.
