Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi issues visas to Indian pilgrims

The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi on Monday issued 96 visas to Indian pilgrims to allow them to visit Shree Katas Raj Temples, also known as Qila Katas.

The pilgrims will visit Shree Katas Raj, a prominent Hindu temple complex in Punjab's Chakwal district from December 20-25.

The High Commission for Pakistan in New Delhi issued visas to Hindu pilgrims under the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974. The pilgrims from both countries are allowed to travel to some shrines across the border every year.

The issuance of pilgrimage visas to Hindu and Sikh pilgrims is in line with the Pakistan government’s efforts to facilitate visits to religious shrines. It is also reflective of Pakistan’s respect for religious places of all faiths and efforts to promote interfaith harmony.
