The UVAS experts told the Turkish delegation that the Congo fever virus was spreading from ticks of animals.
They said as there was free and uncontrolled movement of livestock (both small and large animals) from one place to another and from one province to another, so the virus was spreading at various places.
The Livestock and Dairy Development (L&DD) officials and UVAS experts said the government as an initial measure had established entry points at various places where animals were being dewormed and sprayed anti-tick sprays.
They said that various tests were being conducted to diagnose the virus strains so that effective measures could be taken to control its spread.
There was unanimity of views of both Pakistani and Turkish experts that controlled movement of animals, preventive measures and early diagnosis can help contain and reduce the spread of the virus in the country.
