KABUL – Afghan Taliban have condemned the deadly attacks in which at leasteight people were killed in coordinated bombing target a cricket stadium inJalalabad city the provincial capital of Nangarhar province.
The provincial government media office in a statement said the incidenttook place late on Friday night in the vicinity of the 1st police districtof the city.
The statement further added that three explosions took place inside thestadium at around 11:45 pm local time, leaving at least eight dead andforty five others wounded.
At least eight of the wounded individuals were discharged from the hospitalafter receiving treatment while the remaining 37 others are still receivingtreatment.
No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility behind the deadlybombings.
In the meantime, the Taliban group spokesman, Zabiullah Mujahid in astatement said the fighters of the group have no link with the last night’sattack in Jalalabad city.
According to the provincial government, the organizer of the cricket gameHedayatullah Zahir was among those killed along with the deputy mayor ofJalalabad Dr. Nikmal.
