Nandipur power project corruption scandal: New developments made

ISLAMABAD – New developments have been made in the Nandipur Power project corruption case.

The accountability court on Tuesday has ordered former advisor to Prime Minister (PM) on parliamentary affairs Babar Awan and former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to submit surety bonds of Rs0.2 millioin each in Nandipur power project scandal.

Babar Awan, Pervez Ashraf and five others appeared before the accountability court where Justice Mohammad Arshad Malik resumed the hearing of the reference.

The court ordered the accused to submit surety bonds and summoned them again on October 2.

The reference was filed by NAB over alleged delay in the project inflicting whooping Rs27 bn loss to national exchequer.

Soon after the reference was filled, Babar Awan had tendered resignation from his post.
