Saudi Arabia's special investigation team lands in Pakistan to probe diplomat's murder in Karachi

A Saudi investigation team of six members on Tuesday reached Islamabad to probe into the murder of diplomate Hassan al-Qahtani.

Saudi Arabia’s investigation team held a meeting with Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Rana Sanaullah Khan in Islamabad.

The Saudi Arabia team made some consultation on the investigation of the murder of the Saudi diplomat in Karachi.

The team will visit Karachi on Wednesday and also meet the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the 2011 murder case.

Reportedly, the Saudi investigation team will stay in Pakistan for two days only.

Saudi diplomate Hassan al-Qahtani was killed by four attackers riding on two motorbikes in Karachi’s Defence Phase VI on May 16, 2011.

The diplomate’s car was intercepted by the attackers near his residence in Khayaban-e-Shahbaz and after killing him, they run away.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh Police has constituted a special investigation team at the request of the Saudi government to probe the assassination of an official of the Saudi Consulate in Karachi in 2011.
