ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) sought complete record pertaining to torture of SSP (Operations) Asmatullah Junejo by the protesters during the sit-in of 2014 in a plea challenging the acquittal of Pakistan Tehreek e
Insaf (PTI)’s head Imran Khan by the trial court.
A divisional bench comprising Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani of IHC resumed hearing over the federation’s appeal against the trail court's orders.
The state counsel Sadaqat Abbasi contended before the bench that the Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) had acquitted Khan on May 4, in above case.
He prayed the court to turn down the decision and order the trial court to complete the trial.
The bench observed no one had given the statement against Khan amongst a total of 11 witnesses in this case before the ATC.
After hearing the arguments, the court subsequently sought the complete case record and adjourned the hearing for indefinite time.
