Fake Dawn story: Interior Minister given free hand for probe

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan met with Prime Minister Nawaz sharif here in Islamabad today.
The matters relating to the fake Dawn story came under discussion between PM Nawaz Sharif and Ch. Nisar Ali Khan.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday to personally carry out an inquiry into the leak of the controversial ‘Dawn story’.
In a meeting, Nawaz apparently said to Nisar said that he completely trusts him and the incident should be independently investigated.
Cyrel Almeida, was the Dawn story author who was earlier placed on ECL by the Interior Ministry for publishing a fake news which amounted to breach of national security.
