Rs60b being distributed in Sindh under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme: Dr. Sania

ISLAMABAD-Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Sania Nishtar said that a sum of 60 billion rupees is being distributed among 5 million families in the Sindh under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme.
Briefing the Prime Minister during his visit to Ehsaas Emergency Cash Disbursement Center in Larkana, she said that under the Prime Minister's direction, the share of Sindh province in the Ehsaas Cash Programme has been enhanced from 22 per cent to 31 per cent so that all the deserving families can take benefit from this initiative.
Dr Sania said that in Larkana alone, out of one hundred eighty five thousand families, about one hundred fifteen thousand families have so far been provided the cash assistance.
She further said that a sum of 2.2 billion rupees would be distributed among the deserving families in Larkana and 36 cash distribution centers have been set up for the purpose.
The Prime Minister, on the occasion, interacted with emergency cash assistance beneficiaries and inquired about their financial conditions, particularly in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.
