China says India must not misjudge current situation

ISLAMABAD-China says India must not misjudge the current situation, or underestimate Beijing's firm will to safeguard its territorial sovereignty.

In a telephonic conversation with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi demanded that India should carry out a thorough investigation into the incident and severely punish those who should be held accountable.

He further demanded that India should strictly discipline its frontline troops and immediately stop all provocative actions to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.

During the conversation, the Indian Minister for External Affairs briefed the Chinese Foreign Minister on the New Delhi's stance on the issue.
