ISLAMABAD - Disgruntled Pakistani all rounder Shoaib Malik wants accountability of Pakistani media and not of Pakistani team.
Shoaib Malik slammed the Pakistani media for sensationalizing his personal life.
“When will Pakistani media be accountable for their credibility by our courts?!” Malik wrote on his Twitter. “Having served my country for +20 years in international cricket, it’s sad that I have to clarify things related to my personal life. The videos are from June 13th and not 15th,” Malik added.
Malik’s response comes after a video went viral showing him, alongside his wife Sania Mirza, at a sheesha bar along with other team members.
The former cricket captain further asked the ‘media and people’ to respect the private lives of athletes. “On behalf of all athletes I would like to request media and people to maintain respect levels in regards to our families, who should not be dragged into petty discussions at will. It’s not a nice thing to do,” he said.
Earlier, tennis star Sania Mirza justified her husband’s ‘outing’ and fellow Pakistani cricket players as well. “That’s the video you shot without asking us, disrespecting our privacy even though we had a child with us? Outing was dinner and yes people are allowed to eat if they lose a match! Bunch of fools,” she wrote on social media.
