Ishaq Dar asks nation to eat chicken if pulses are expensive

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that some parliamentarian’s complaint that prices of pulses are higher than chicken so he advised them to eat chicken if pulses are expensive as prices of chicken has been reduced by government.

While addressing budget session regarding the approval of essential expenses for next fiscal year budget, Dar highlighted government performance for the economic stability of the country saying that we are fully considering to reduce financial deficit while developmental budget has been doubled during last three years.

He further pointed out that secret funds of 32 institutions out of 34 have been ended and now no department could enjoy secret funds excluding Intelligence agencies.

Talking about loans taken by government, he urged that former rulers including Musharraf, PML-Q and PPP should also be questioned about loans that were taken in their tenure and why only PML-N is being criticized in this regard. All debts are taken with the approval of parliament.

While criticizing Sheikh Rashid over his allegations leveled against him, Dar challenged Sheikh Rashid that he is ready to quit politics if single penny corruption and assets in abroad proved against him.
