There is a likelihood of further increase in electricity prices under the monthly fuel price adjustment for June.
There is a chance of raise in power tariff for the consumers of Karachi-Electric (K-Electric), by Rs2.33 per unit, while for the consumers of other power distribution companies, hike by Rs1.89 per unit is expected.
Both K-Electric and the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) have separately filed petitions in the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
The NEPRA will take up their petitions for the hearing on July 26.
