The next govt can’t be formed without the PPP: Qamar Zaman Kaira

Former federal information minister and PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the next federal government will be a coalition government and it will not be possible for any party to form the government without the PPP.

“Either it will be a PPP government or a government with the PPP in coalition,” said Kaira.

He was talking to anchor Kiran Naz.

Kaira said he does not see PTI forming the government in the Centre. “The PTI has no one to blame but itself for the deteriorating relations they have with other parties.”

On the question of the PPP not being able to field notable candidates in Punjab, Kaira said, “In 2002, even I was not considered an electable, no one knew my name. If people know me today, it is only after going through a process.

Responding to allegations that PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the face of the party while it is former president Asif Ali Zardari who actually runs the show, Kaira said though Zardari has a strong say in the party's affairs, Bilawal is independent in his decisions and often exercises his powers.
