LONDON: Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has become the first player in the history to score 300 La Liga goals.

The 28 years old Star achieved the 300th goal against Sporting Gijon on Wednesday.

Six minutes later he notched his 301st and Barcelona’s 10,000th, the first for any La Liga club.

He hit the ball from 25 yards distance in 20th minute of the game.

Messi is now at No. 2 standing with 50 goals, with his rival Christino Ronaldo with 55.

Messi is 5th footballer to score 300 goals in any of Europe’s top five leagues.

Messi got the chance of his 300th goal last Sunday against Celta Vigo but he passed the ball to Luis Suarez.
