Former CCPO Lahore Amin Wains in big trouble

ISLAMABAD - Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Abu Bakar Khuda Bakhsh has made startling revelations against the former CCPO Lahore Amin Wains.

He alleged that former Lahore capital city police officer (CCPO) Amin Wains and former superintendent of police (SP) Umar Virk indulged in brokering a forced agreement between both parties and Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has summoned both the officers to explain themselves, reported a local media link outlet.

An application had been filed by the two widows of Sheikh Ajmal accusing the officers of selling their late husband’s business entities via a forced agreement.

AIG Bakhsh also said that the inspector general of police (IGP) had recommended that a First Information Report (FIR) should be registered against the accused.

The CJP observed that the mere registration of an FIR would not serve any purpose and the case could be referred to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
