Peace in Afghanistan is vital for Pakistan : NSA

ISLAMABAD (APP): Underscoring the centerality of Kashmir to Pakistan-India relations, National Security Adviser (NSA) Lt. Gen (R) Nasser Khan Janjua Thursday said that Indian brutal supperession of on-going freedom movement in Indian held Kashmir (IHK) was cause of serious concern for Pakistan.
This was observed by him during a meeting with Foreign Minister of Norway Mr. Borge Brende Foreign Minister of Norway who called on the NSA in his office here.
Lt. Gen Nasser stated peace in Afghanistan was vital for Pakistan.
He explained in detail the efforts Pakistan had made and continued to make to bring peace in Afghanistan through an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.
The NSA briefed the Norwegian Foreign Minister on the steps Pakistan had taken to address the challenge of terrorism and extremism.
In this regard, he highlighted the gains made through operation Zarb-e-Azb and the National Action Plan.
Borge Brende acknowledged Pakistan's role in regional peace and stability and appreciated efforts Pakistan had been making to achieve that end.
