ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Navy Ship PNS Aslat arrived at HMNB Portsmouth, UKtoday (Wednesday) for a series of high-level engagements. CommodoreMuhammad Faisal Abbasi, Commander 25th Destroyer Squadron is leading theship.

Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK Syed Ibne Abbas and Captain of theNaval Base Captain Bill Oliphant received the PNS Aslat at the base.

The ship was greeted by a Royal Marines Band on the jetty. HMNB Portsmouthis hosting this visit by the Pakistan Navy from 18 to 22 July.

The visit will foster good relations between navies of Pakistan and the UKand build on mutual co-operation and support. It will also introduce thePakistan Navy to Royal Navy training facilities.

A large number of Pakistani community members who have already registeredvia Pakistan High Commission’s website, will be visiting the ship on 21 and22 July 2018.
