Is Nawaz Sharif eligible to participate in General Elections?

In London, former finance minister Ishaq Dar has stated that there are no obstacles preventing PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif from participating in elections.
Dar explained that Article 62 (1) (f), which reduced the disqualification period to five years, was passed by Parliament and also received approval from the president. Consequently, after the approval of Article 62 (1) (f), former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) leader Jahangir Tareen are now eligible to contest elections.
Ishaq Dar refrained from commenting on PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, mentioning that while he considers him like a son, the PDM coalition government made decisions collectively during its 17-month tenure.
Former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had previously announced Nawaz Sharif's return to Pakistan on October 21, assuring a warm welcome upon his arrival.
Shehbaz Sharif asserted that Nawaz Sharif's removal from power was the result of a conspiracy, and the alleged rigging in the 2018 general elections had left Pakistan lagging behind in the region. He emphasized that Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan, face the law, and there was unanimity on this matter within the party.
