Chief Selector Inzamam ul Huq threatened to resign from PCB

Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has revealed the threat of resigning twice in a month. PCB had entrusted Inzamam-ul-Haq with the role of Chief Selector on August 7th. However, there were two instances where the former captain threatened to resign, even after being selected for the series against Afghanistan and the Asia Cup.

Disheartened, he expressed his intention to resign but later met with Chief Zaka Ashraf in a meeting, and matters were resolved.

According to Express News, Inzamam sought a hefty remuneration for a three-year contract, along with a monthly sum of more than 20 lakh rupees. A stamp was placed on the contract's duration during negotiations with the management committee.

During the recent Asia Cup in Lahore, Inzamam expressed dissatisfaction once again and had demanded complete authority to grant players NOCs for leagues.

Inzamam's agents, including Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, represent several national cricketers. The complete authority to appoint the Chief Selector was not in the hands of the PCB to avoid conflicts of interest, and this led to Inzamam's resignation threat due to differences in interests
