HSSC Position-holder dies before receiving his medal

MULTAN, Sept 17, (APP): Waqas Rauf, who has secured the first position in General Science Group in Higher Secondary School Certificate ( HSSC) Examination 2016 by securing 1013 marks, is no more in this world to receive his medal.
Last month, the shining boy died of brain-haemorrhage in his city, Vehari, according to sources.
The family and friends of the deceased position-holder were given a standing ovation at the Multan Arts Council when his position was declared during the result declaration ceremony.
Talking to APP, Haji Niaz, the grieving father, said that Waqas was the youngest among his seven siblings. Sadly, his elder brother and sister were killed in a road accident a few years back.
He said that his son had always secured top positions in different examinations during the past five years.
"Waqas had grabbed the fifth position by securing 1055 marks in the SSC examination in 2014, organised by the BISE Multan," recalled Haji Niaz with tears rolling down his cheeks.
Waqas, a student at the Govt Post-graduate College, Vehari, had plans to become a software engineere, Ghulam Moeen Uddin, a brother of the deceased said. He said his brother had always made the family hold their heads high with pride by getting top positions in exams.
"When we came to know about his position in the Inter exams, we all were weeping in grief. The position-holder is no more in this world to receive his medal," he added.
"Had Waqas been alive today, our joys would have no bounds," Moeen said.
