The World Cup-winning Australian captain Ricky Ponting has warned India that only one loss can create significant pressure on them in the ICC Cricket World Cup. Ponting, the legendary former batter from Australia, expressed his views about the Indian team before their upcoming match against Bangladesh, stating that facing the home crowd, just one bad match can escalate pressure on the Indian team.
Ponting said that if India suffers a defeat in any one of their league matches, it could lead to an intense emotional response from passionate Indian fans. On both individual and team levels, just one poor performance can put a team under immense pressure.
He mentioned that he had always said from the beginning that this is the team to beat in the tournament because they possess all the fundamental elements needed to win - fast bowling, spin, a strong top order, and middle-order batting.
