Swat Motorway inauguration announced by FWO

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak Monday directed for accelerating construction work on Swat motorway, the acquisition of remaining land under the project, the oil refinery in Karak and the cement factory in Haripur.

The Chief Minister directed FWO to complete Swat Expressway by the end of March as per agreement and FWO informed that another heavy drilling machine had started work on the site and hopefully the progress would get double and the whole project would be completed within the timeline.

He was presiding over a meeting on the roads communication network, Swat Expressway, Oil Refinery, Peshawar and Rashakai Smart City, Hydro Power Projects in Chitral.

He directed to make all arrangements to formally inaugurate Peshawar and Rashakai Smart Cities, and asked FWO to clear the liabilities of the Provincial Government and accelerate work on both sides of the Swat Expressway in order to complete it within the time tag.

The Chief Minister directed concern quarters to ensure land acquisition for different developmental schemes including roads, cement factory, housing schemes, oil refinery, hydro power project and take all pre-requisite for the smooth implementation of these projects.

He directed the concerned quarters to resolve the problems that were impeding the pace of work on the projects within a week as his government would not allow any anyone to create hurdles in facilitation of investors and setting up of industrial units throughout the province.

He asked FWO to expedite survey and take all other steps to formally inaugurate the cement plant, the oil refinery Rashakai and Peshawar Smart Cities and the hydro power projects as per agreed formula.

The Chief Minister assured full support of his government to FWO and referring to hydro power projects in Chitral and Naran, the Chief Minister asked FWO to plan the transmission line right from the project side to Chakdara.

Regarding the gas converting for electricity production purpose in Hattar, Rashakai and DI Khan Economic Zone in the context of CPEC, the Chief Minister directed to monitor the speed and process of the work on these projects.

Pervez Khattak directed the quarters concerned to accelerate the process of land acquisition and remove the obstacles hampering the pace of implementation on these projects. He also directed to look into the replacement of proposed linking road to the Peshawar Smart City with another suitable road.

Regarding other roads opening in the scenic Galyat, the Chief Minister directed to plan the projects and the government within its resources would try to negotiate with FWO for a joint venture, if deemed it feasible.
