Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday served contempt of court notice to office bearers of Islamabad Police for banning entry of lawyers in judicial complex despite of court orders.
Mian Gul Hassan Aurengzaib of IHC heard the contempt of court plea filed by the members of legal fraternity against violation of court orders allowing lawyers' entry in judicial complex.
Chaudhry Khalid Mehood Advocate on behalf of petitioners appeared before the court and contended that police use violence against lawyers outside the accountability court in violation of IHC orders.
The bench asked that where this incident has taken place?
Mehmood said it was happened at a police check-post on service road near judicial complex.
He requested the court to summoned three police officers in person including SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani, SSP Jameel Hashmi and DSP Idrees Rathor.
After hearing the arguments, the court served contempt of court notices to three officers and adjourned hearing of the case.
It may be mentioned here that a single member bench of IHC had earlier barred Islamabad police for not banning the entry of lawyers in judicial complex on request of some petitioners. The petitioners had stated that banning their entry was violation of their legal rights.
