Shan Masood, newly appointed Pakistani captain faces a setback

Newly-appointed Test captain Shan Masood encountered an injury setback on Friday during the semi-final clash between Karachi Region and Multan Region in Rawalpindi.

Masood, representing Karachi, sustained a leg injury when he collided with teammate Sarfaraz Ahmed while attempting to catch Sohail Khan's delivery.

Despite Sarfaraz Ahmed avoiding injury, Masood's leg was visibly affected. Post the incident, Masood underwent a physio checkup and subsequently had to leave the field.

In a separate match on Thursday, Captain Sahibzada Farhan played a crucial innings of 69 off 76 balls, supported by Abbas Afridi's 3-34, propelling Peshawar Region to the final of the Pakistan Cup against Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). Chasing a target of 246, FATA fell short, being dismissed for 201.

Peshawar Region secured a 44-run victory with 23 deliveries to spare. Mohammad Sarwar was FATA's top scorer with a 45-ball 56, featuring three fours and three sixes before being removed by Azam Khan.
