Maira Zulfiqar murder case: Breakthrough reported in investigation of British Pakistani girl murder

Lahore: The main accused in the murder case of a Pakistani-British girl named Maira Zulfiqar has appeared before the police to record his statement.
As per sources, the accused identified as Saad Amir Butt recorded his statement and stated that he was sleeping at his house when Mahira was killed.
The accused stated that he never tried to kidnap Maira.
He added that the deceased woman was his friend and later their friendship ended.
The 25-year old woman was brutally killed after she rejected marriage proposals of his friends. Punjab police arrested two prime suspects.
Police officials stated that the maid who used to work in the house found her body in bed room.
Police reached the spot after getting information and shifted the deceased to a nearby hospital for a forensic examination.
As per initial postmortem report, the deceased had been shot on her neck and arm. Bruises were also found on her right hand and left foot.
