Steps being taken for welfare of media workers: Dr Firdous

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan says the government is committed to take pragmatic steps for welfare of media workers and development of media under the direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

She made these remarks during her visit to National Press Club in Islamabad.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said all possible measures will be taken to promote independent journalism and for resolution of issues being faced by the journalists.

On the occasion, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting also interacted with President of National Press Club Shakil Karar and journalists present there.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan also visited the house of Secretary National Press Club Anwar Raza and expressed her deep sense of grief and sorrow over the sad demise of his mother.

She prayed for the departed soul and commiserated with the bereaved family.
