IHC seeks case record about freezing of Hajveri Trust’s accounts

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) sought case record in a petition challenging the freezing  of Hajveri Trust’s bank accounts in a reference against former finance minister Ishaq Dar, pertaining  to assets beyond known sources of income.

A divisional bench, comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Moshin Akhter Kiyani, heard the  petition against the decision of Accountability Court, Islamabad.

During the course of proceeding, Dar’s counsel Qazi Misbah pleaded that the accounts of Hajveri  Trust were frozen against the law.  He stated that the trial court had not heard the stance of defense  side prior to the decision.

He stated that the defense side has not been provided the case record so far. At this, the bench  sought the case record from trial court and adjourned hearing of the case till June 26.

It may be mentioned here that the Accountability Court had ordered to freeze the accounts of  Hajveri Trust and auction of Dar’s property after declaring him proclaimed offender due to  continuous non-appearance.
