TTP being supported by Afghan state institutions : Defence Minister

ISLAMABAD: While expressing his concerns over the unprovoked firing by Afghan forces at Torkham, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that militants enter in Pakistan via Torkham border from Afghanistan for sabotaging acts while TTP is being supported by Afghan institution.
While expressing his views in Senate, Defense Minister pointed out that Pakistan is desirous to establish cordial relations with neighbor country while Angora Adda check-post has also been handed over to Afghanistan in order to improve both countries ties.
There are 78 crossing at Afghan border while 16 crossing points are notified and 9 points are closed, Kh. Asif explained adding that Chamman and Torkham are main crossing point and Pakistan is making all possible efforts for an effective border management system.
It is the responsibility of both countries leadership to defuse tension that persist at Torkham, Asif elaborated stating that we are ready to resolve issue through dialogues but Afghan authorities have not yet agreed to discuss matter at high level.
We do not have any dispute with Afghanistan but have complaint that terrorists come to Pakistan from Afghanistan for terrorism and they are being supported by Afghan institution.
He made it clear that Pakistan will never withdraw from its stance to improve border management as it is the matter of Pakistan security and integrity.
