ISLAMABAD, June 17 (APP): Seamless GSM coverage along KKH planned
Ministry of Information Technology is planning a project to provide seamless GSM coverage along the Karakoram Highway (KKH) for Gawadar-Kashghar Economic Corridor in Gilgit Baltistan.
An official of the ministry said that in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2016-17, Rs 50 million had been allocated for the proposed project.
He said Rs 2.3 billion had been allocated for construction of Cross-Border Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) System between China and Pakistan for connectivity.
He said Rs 300 million had also been designated for Replacement of GSM Network of AJK Special Communications Organization.
He said in PSDP document, Rs 151 million had been earmarked for Technology Parks Development project.
