Rozena Khan : Pakistani origin daughter of Mechanic elected as British MP

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani origin British citizen Rozena Khan has been elected as member of British Parliament on the vacant seat of London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
According to British media, Rozena Khan has succeeded to win by-poll on the constituency Toting that was vacated when Sadiq Khan elected as Mayor of London.
Rozena Khan was contesting on the ticket of Labor Party and she defeated Conservative rival Dean Watkins by 6,300 votes.
Rozena Khan secured 17,800 votes while her opposing candidate got 11,500 votes in this by election.
Like Sadiq Khan, Rozena Khan also does not belong to rich and known family as her father is a TV mechanic and her mother used to work at a petrol pump while Rozena Khan is a junior doctor by profession.
After the announcement of her victory, she paid tribute to the British legislator Jo Cox who had been killed in an attack and expressed his deep condolence over her death.
