Afghan President assures Army Chief of enhanced border security measures

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nasir-ul-Mulk has termed the terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan cowardly acts of the enemies designed to derail democratic process in the country.

He was talking to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani who called him on telephone to offer condolences on the recent terrorist attacks targeting election rallies in the country.

The Prime Minister said that the caretaker government is committed to hold election on time and such cowardly acts would not deter its resolve.

Condemning the attacks, Afghan President expressed deep sorrow and sympathy on the tragic loss of precious lives.

Both leaders agreed to work together to defeat the common enemies for peace and security in the region.

Meanwhile, talking to Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa by telephone, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani expressed his condolences on loss of innocent lives in recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan. 

He assured COAS of enhanced border security measures on Afghanistan side as assistance to Pakistan Security Forces during election period.
