Pakistan beats India in the Asian Squash Championship

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan players produced another outstanding display when on Thursday they notched up two consecutive wins in the 19th Asian Junior Squash Team Championship in Pattaya, Thailand.
In their first match they registered an impressive 3-0 win against Korea, according to information received here.
Abbas Zeb thrashed K. Seokjin by a score line of 11-2, 11-7, 11-4, while Farhan Hashmi overpowered J.M. You 11-4, 11-2, 11-8. Haris Qasim faced a tough resistance from M.W. Lee but finally emerged victorious in the five-set contest 11-8, 3-11, 3-11, 11-8, 13-11.
In their second fixture Pakistan defeated traditional rivals India 2-1.
Abbas Zeb overcame Utkrash Behtei 11-8, 8-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-9 in a thriller. Haris Qasim notched up win against Veer Chotrani 10-12, 6-11,12-10, 12-10,11-6 in another exciting contest.
However, Farhan Hashmi lost to Tushant Shahani 9-11, 8-11-, 11-9,12-10,5-11 in a well-contested game.
Pakistan team have already won their first two fixtures against Chinese Taipei and Sri Lanka.
