74 Int’l NGOs operating freely in country: Tehmina

Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua has said that seventy four International NGOs are operating freely in the country and contributing in diverse fields of priority for Pakistan.
She was briefing the envoys of different countries in Islamabad about Pakistan's policy towards registration and operations of International NGOs.
The Foreign Secretary encouraged the International NGOs and donor States to work in the diverse fields including poverty alleviation, health, vocational education and science and technology, environmental protection, disaster management, sports and culture.
She reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to a mutually beneficial framework on INGOs, underpinned by rule of law, transparency and responsive to nationally determined development priorities.
