Sehwan Blast initial investigation reveals startling facts about suicide bomber

KARACHI: Investigation teams arrived in Sehwan Shareef to probe Thursday’s terrorist attack at the shrine that left at least 74 people including 20 children and women dead.

Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in-charge Raja Umar Khattab and Mazhar Mashwani visited the shrine. The forensic team garnered clues from the blast site.

The investigators began the search for the miscreants with the help of CCTV footage.

According to the initial report, Sehwan blast is like Shah Noorani blast. The report said at least seven kilogram explosives were used in the blast with ball-bearings.

The report highlighted that the suicide bomber entered the shrine premises wearing a burqa; however, the gender of the bomber could not be confirmed as yet.

It should be mentioned here that a most ravaging bomb ripped through a crowded Sufi shrine in Sehwan Shareef, that killed at least 74 people including 20 children and wounding hundreds.
